What’s Included in This Free Crochet Table Set Pattern

This free crochet table set pattern includes four coordinating pieces:

1. Round crochet placemats — 13 inches across, with a scalloped edge that softens the whole table setting.
2. Napkin holders — built on a 2-inch wooden ring, sized to hold a folded napkin.
3. Coasters — 5 inches across, quick to make and perfect for using up leftover yarn.
4. Crochet table runner — 15 inches wide by 73 inches long, the piece that pulls everything together.

The Best Yarn for a Crochet Table Set

For this set, I used I Love This Cotton! in Warm Blush, Serene Spa, and Parchment. It’s a soft #4 worsted-weight cotton that’s gentle on the hands, gives lovely stitch definition, and comes in a whole range of beautiful colors that make picking a palette half the fun.

That said, any worsted-weight cotton yarn will do the job — so use what you love. Just avoid the stiffer cottons like Lily Sugar’n Cream. They’re tough on your hands to work with, and the stitches won’t pop the same way.

Pattern Notes

Before you get started:

• Terminology — the pattern is written in US crochet terms.
• Difficulty — easy to intermediate. If you can work in the round and keep your stitch count, you’re good.
• Hooks — you’ll want a 5 mm hook for the placemats and table runner, and a 4.5 mm hook for the coasters.
• Napkin holders — these are built on a 2″ wooden ring, so grab one per holder.
