I’m so excited to share that we’ll be hosting a Crochet for Charity Blog Hop this September—with free daily crochet patterns for you to make and donate!
Throughout the event, a group of wonderful crochet designers will reveal a new free PDF crochet pattern every single day. You’ll find warm, practical projects to stitch and give, including crochet hats, scarves, mittens, and blankets.
These free crochet patterns are perfect for making and donating to help keep someone warm this winter. Whether you’re crocheting for a local shelter, a hospital, a community organization, a friend, or someone in need, we hope you’ll join us in spreading a little warmth and kindness—one stitch at a time.
Free Daily Crochet Patterns: How the Blog Hop Works
Starting September 6, a new crochet pattern will be revealed here on the blog every day at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Each featured pattern will be available as a free PDF download for 24 hours only, so be sure to check back daily to collect the patterns you’d like to make.
Each week features a different crochet theme:
- Week 1: September 6–12 — Hats
- Week 2: September 13–19 — Scarves
- Week 3: September 20–26 — Mittens
- Week 4: September 27–October 3 — Blankets
How to participate
- Visit the blog each day beginning September 6 to find the featured pattern.
- Click the featured pattern link. You’ll be directed to the participating designer’s blog.
- Look for the download button—see the example image below—and download the free PDF pattern while it’s available.
- Make a project to donate to a charity, shelter, hospital, or someone in need.
Crochet for Charity With Our Community
We’d love for you to join our Crochet-Along (CAL) while making your charity projects! This is not a traditional crochet-along with pattern instructions or pattern support. Instead, it’s a fun and friendly place to:
- Share your progress and finished projects
- Connect with fellow crocheters
- Encourage and support one another
- Tell us who you’re making your project for
- Share how you plan to donate your finished items
Participation is optional and is not required to download the free patterns, but we highly encourage you to join us!
The Crochet-Along will take place on Facebook, where I’ll create a dedicated thread for sharing your crochet-for-charity projects. I’ll pin the thread so it’s easy to find and you won’t miss it.
You don’t have to complete every pattern to participate, and you don’t have to join the CAL to enjoy the free patterns. Simply make what you can, at your own pace, and enjoy crocheting for a good cause.
