How is this crochet Christmas hat made
The Winter Sled Christmas Beanie is worked from the bottom up, starting with a snug and comfy brim. Then you move on to crocheting the body of the hat in rounds using a gorgeous textured stitch. It’s a simple one-row repeat that gives the beanie such a lovely, cozy texture. I love this stitch so much, I’ve used it in a couple of my other patterns too — like the North Pole Stocking and the North Pole Wine Cozy.
What makes this pattern even more fun is how easy it is to play with color. You can mix and match shades to make each beanie unique. I’ve included instructions for a striped version, along with two other color combo ideas.
And with sizes for kids, teens, and adults, you can make matching hats for the whole family — perfect for holiday photos or cozy winter outings.

Needed yarn for this Free crochet Christmas Hat pattern
To crochet this easy holiday hat pattern, you can use your favorite #4 worsted-weight yarn. For my hat, I chose Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn”—it’s super soft and comes in so many great colors!
I went with classic Christmas colors—red, green, and beige—that feel festive but aren’t too “Christmassy” 🙂 My family loved the colors and ended up wearing their hats all season long, even after the holidays!
