Finished Measurements: The pattern is written for a blanket measuring about 54” in length and 46″ in width. To make a different size, check the sizing table and choose your size. Start with a foundation chain that fits your width—it should be a multiple of 2 plus 3 stitches. Then, crochet to the recommended length for your size.

Special Stitches
- HDC in the 3rd loop: YO, find the 3rd loop – it’s just below the top two loops of the stitch. Insert your hook into that loop (not the top V), YO, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), YO, pull through all 3 loops.
- Back post double crochet (BPDC): YO, insert your hook from back to front to back around the post of the stitch, YO, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), YO, pull through 2 loops, YO, pull through last 2 loops.
- V-ST: *2 HDC, CH 1, 2 HDC* in the same ST.

Step 1 – Crochet the throw
The placement of the stitches can be confusing at first, so remember:
- Start and end each row with a HDC.
- Alternate BPDC and HDC across the row.
- Place the HDC from the previous row into the HDC.
- Place BPDC in the BPDC of the prior row.
CH 135 to make a foundation chain. To adjust the size, crochet an even number of chains until you reach your desired width. +3
Row 1: DC in 4th CH from the hook (counts as a ST), DC in each ST across, turn. (132 DC+ CH3)
Row 2: CH1, HDC in same ST,*BPDC in next ST, HDC in next ST*, rep * to *across, ending with an HDC at the top of the starting CH 3, turn. 133 ST
Row 3: CH1, HDC in same ST,* BPDC in next ST, HDC in next ST*, rep * to * across, turn. 133 ST
Row 4 – 129 (or to the desired length): Rep Row 3. At the end of the last row, change to contrast yarn in the last ST, cut the main yarn, then crochet the border.
Step 2 – Crochet the border
Crochet the border in continuous rounds.
Rnd 1: With contrast yarn work (HDC, CH 1, 2HDC) in the last ST where your last HDC was made—this is your first V-ST. *Make 1 HDC in each row until the next corner, work a V-ST (2 HDC, CH 1, 2 HDC) in the corner, then HDC in each ST across to the next corner, V-ST in the corner;* rep * to * around. When you reach the first corner again, HDC in the 1st HDC of the V-ST, skip the next HDC, and V-ST in the CH-1 sp.
Rnd 2–6: *HDC in the 3rd loop of each stitch across to the corner, HDC in the 3rd loop of the first HDC of the V-ST, skip the next ST, V-ST in the CH-1 sp;* rep from * to * around.
Rnd 7: HDC in the 3rd loop of each ST around, and HDC in each CH-1 sp. End with a SL ST in the 1ST ST. Fasten off, weave in ends, and you’re done!
