Introducing the Blossom Cup Cozy Crochet Pattern – a sweet way to decorate your favorite cups. With its delicate design and gorgeous color, it’s the perfect accessory to enhance your tea or coffee time or make thoughtful gifts.

A large cup with a straw in a colorful cup cozy

I’m crocheted this Blossom cup cozy for my mom. She’s big on eco-friendly choices and loves her reusable cups. It’s funny; she even matches her cup cozies with her outfits!

I picked a pretty variegated yarn she loves, and for the stitch, I went with a shell stitch. It’s an easy one-row repeat that I enjoy using in various projects, such as my Snowball Christmas stocking featured in my Christmas collection, or my Dublin hat featured in my Hat & Scarf collection .

This crochet project is really satisfying; it works up fast and is a great way to use up your scrap yarn. You can use your favorite #4 weight yarn for this cozy, or try different weights, just adjust your foundation chain and hook size accordingly.

For the cozy below, I used “I Love This Yarn”, color Royal gorge, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Hope you like it too!

Pattern notes

  • This pattern is written in US terms.
  • Finished dimensions 5” wide and 6” tall when laid flat
  • The pattern is designed for a 19 oz cup, but for different cup sizes or yarn weights, create a multiple of 6 minus 3 foundation chain that fits perfectly around the bottom of your cup, then, crochet to the desired height.
  • For a perfect fit, especially if your cup is narrower at the bottom and wider at the top, here’s a tip: crochet the first 6 rounds with a slightly smaller size hook. After that, continue the rest of the pattern with your main crochet hook. This adjustment ensures that your cup cozy will snugly hug the shape of your cup from top to bottom.

Recommended Yarn

*Caron Blossom Cakes Yarn*, #4 worsted weight yarn. Color shown: Tropical bloom

About: 40 yd for a large cup.
